PAYSTUBSMAKR.COM presents an article about  Sleep, Stress and small business managing

3. Why we are so dependent on enough sleeping

Mother nature made us this way here are some ideas about why. Mother Nature Network tells us (quote): “When you sleep, your body and brain re-energize cells, clear waste and create memories. These processes are key to protecting your overall health and regulating specific functions that guide your mood, appetite, cognitive abilities, and libido.

When night falls, Melatonin appears and make us feel sleepy and fall asleep. Once we are already sleeping, more player is joining, the Hormones like growth hormone, cortisol,|and more.

The cortisol makes us this night time appetite that has a lot of negative influence on our body weight and health. Using other words, you can not eat while you sleep, so unnecessary calories do not digest. You stress takes your sleep, your lake of sleep takes your health.

4. Good Sleeping stimulates creativity

REM sleep is considered a significant contribution to make the people more creative.

REM is Rapid Eye Movement sleep; it affects the people that have good enough REM sleeping time

Rapid eye movement sleep – Wikipedia. Read here the studies that prove this:

“At Davis University in California, the scientists used a protocol called Remote Associates Test (RAT) the protocol is made to study the quantity of creativity increase. Right before the test, the participants were divided into three groups. The first group was allowed to rest but not sleep, the second group experienced NREM sleep but was not permitted the stage of REM sleep, the third group was allowed to reach the REM stage. Using the RAT test after the three groups were awaken, the Davis University researchers found that the two groups show no increase in creativity after they rest or slept only Non-Rapid Movement NREM or only got rest with no sleep. The groups that did have a good REM sleep show increase in creative capacity.”

The UC San Diego researchers got the same results when they found that the people that had REM sleep scored 40% better creativity than the people on the other sleeping stages. It looks like the popular saying “sleep on it” is ancient wisdom.

5. Weight loss and good sleep

Overweight and obesity are our time epidemic, many people claim that they keep their diet, eat healthy food, and exercise regularly in the Gim but still grow fatter every month. Something is missing to get the weight loss done. Rest and sleep well are crucial for a complete lifestyle change that can make it for the weight loss. You can read about, How Sleep Affects Weight Loss here How Sleep Affects Weight Loss It is clear that keeping your weight under control requires eating the correct foods, make enough exercise and sleep enough in good conditions, silence and complete darkness in your bedroom are important.

A few days of sleep-deprivation and your body will reaction will be losing your ability to use the insulin as your master storage hormone. The University of Chicago research found that a 30% of your insulin sensitivity was dropped after a few no-sleep nights. Sleep Well to Avoid Insulin Resistance, Study Suggests.

6. Sleeping well and enough will keep well your mental and emotional fitness.

Experiencing sleep-deprivation for a long time will affect your emotional health and your mood. We all know that when we did not sleep enough, we have less patience for our fellow workers or family members. Babies are a good example of sleep deprivation and mood or behavior; they cry a lot until we let them catch sleep.

Harvard University letter on Sleep and mental health tell us: “The brain basis of a mutual relationship between sleep and mental health is not yet completely understood. But neuroimaging and neuron-chemistry studies suggest that a good night’s sleep helps foster both mental and emotional resilience, while chronic sleep disruptions set the stage for negative thinking and emotional vulnerability.”

7. Concentration and productivity are improved when we sleep enough

When we are tired and stressed because of missing sleep we can be that productive in work, though we try hard to keep working our brain does not produce the right quality and quantity of work, our mind stops reacting to the flow of information and finds it hard to make a new and fresh action. If we are doing physical labor, we may make dangerous mistakes like falling or driving into obstacles, while working using our brain can make us look at the screen losing the words we wanted to the right. Taking a good rest and sleep, we will come back to our desk and find it easy to write what was impossible a few hours before.

Sleep.org tells us that:  a Delta Discovery  Quote “When you’re sleep-deprived, you’ll have more trouble refocusing on the task at hand after a disruption, compared with someone who is well rested. Feeling refreshed will come in especially handy if you have a “Chatty Cathy” cubicle mate or kids who have ‘urgent’ requests to turn on the Tom and Jerry as soon as you enter your home office.

Definitively we need to have sufficient hours of sleep and rest to get the maximum out of ourselves. The evolution of life on earth was evolved under the day and night conditions we cannot change it.
We can not sleep for tomorrow; we must sleep 7 to 8 hour every day. Even some sleep-deprivation can make us slow and less accurate lie alcohol.

8. Enough sleep improves health

Sleep well affects our brain and general health too; it is the Restoration of energy that gives the body a better power to resist diseases.

The fatigue win the soldiers

Harvard Medical  details how this works:

Delta Discovery quotes “One of the most important of these functions may be to provide cells and tissues with the opportunity to recover from the wear and tear of daily life. Major restorative functions in the body such as tissue repair, muscle growth, and protein synthesis occur almost exclusively during sleep.
Some conclusions on the part of sleep in the body’s functions and health came from studying humans and animals under the influence of sleep deprivation. Not sufficient sleep alters the hormone level and its effect on the metabolism, appetite, and stress.
